Caktuz created and ran the Media Arts Lab in CCA (Center for Community Alternatives) while in his 2 yr tenure there as an After School Specialist. CVK was hands-on in teaching youth offenders in Brooklyn NY the arts of music, mixing, video, and editing.
After assisting CCA in receiving a full grant to underwrite the budget needed to build a studio, the program went on to become the most productive and popular of all the facility’s initiatives. Caktuz taught school aged children (11-17 yrs .old), many of whom had no prior experience.
Many media projects such as short films, music videos, mixtapes, and website development were spawned from the program, involving youth at all points of creation and production.
